Youth to the People Brand Review
Since its founding in 2018, Youth to the People has made a splash in the skincare world. They are 100% vegan and cruelty free, and emphasize making skincare that works for all. They are one of my top three favorite skincare brands, but what makes them so special? And why should you check them out?
In a general sense, I’m drawn to YTTP because of their aesthetically pleasing & environmentally conscious packaging, the thoughtful product formulations that work well for my skin, and their commitment to making the world a better place, whether that’s through charity donations, awareness campaigns, or increasing authenticity and transparency in the skincare space.
I’ve been fortunate to have tried many of Youth to the People’s products, and below I’ll break down each one and why I would recommend them to pretty much anyone.
Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser
This cleanser can be used twice daily in the morning and evening to prevent buildup in pores. To use, wet face, put 1-2 pumps on wet hands, rub together into a light lather and massage into your face and neck for 30 seconds to activate the cold-pressed antioxidants. It lightly foams, but not in a stripping way. I’m also obsessed with the scent - using it smells like I’m washing my face with a freakin green smoothie! This is one of my favorite second cleanses and I just bought the jumbo bottle they’re selling for Earth Day (check it out, $1 from every sale benefits the Earth!) to bring on my six-week trip this summer so I don’t have to go without it. This is great for sensitive skin because it isn’t irritating at all, but honestly can work for any skin type.
Superberry Glow Oil
This baby is the superstar of my facial oils. First of all, it smells AMAZING. I’m seriously addicted to the super berry smell. Second, it is the lightest facial oil I’ve tried and my skin just drinks it right up! It gives a beautiful glow and makes my skin feel supple and hydrated. I predominantly use it in the evenings but it can definitely be used in the daytime under makeup because of how light it is.
Kale Whip Moisturizer
This moisturizer was my first time trying a YTTP product and it made me fall completely in love! It is super light and airy while still packing a mighty hydrating punch. This is my favorite morning moisturizer and another product I’ll be bringing on my trip this summer because I can’t live without it.
Adaptogen Moisturizer
This is a perfect companion to the Kale Whip moisturizer. I use this one at night, because it’s thicker and creamier, but truthfully either one of the YTTP moisturizers can be used at any time of the day. Adaptogens are incredible ingredients for the skin…
Superfood Reset Mask
This was YTTP’s first mask product and I’ve been using it for a while! It’s packed with antioxidants to really help reset your skin. It’s a little like a clay mask in that it has a dry-down but not as intense as other clay masks I’ve tried. It’s a creamy texture so it hydrates the skin while getting rid of any gunk or buildup.
Superberry Dream Mask
This was one of the most-hyped releases this year in skincare and also one of the few that FULLY lived up the hype. This is the sleeping mask of your DREAMS, people! [ingredients] It has a creamy, butter-like formulation that honestly makes me think it should be edible (alas, it is not. I have to settle for smelling it). I love applying this because as soon as it hits my skin I can feel it working. This sounds like an exaggeration but it really isn’t - its ingredients are so powerful that you see results on the first use. Whenever I apply this before bed, I wake up with glowy, hydrated, smooth and BEAUTIFUL skin. I’ve made literally every single one of my family members and friends try this because it is that much of a wonder product - I will never stop singing its praises!
There are still some YTTP products I have yet to try. I would love to get my hands on their serum and their eye cream, because based on my experience so far I am certain I would love them!
Have you tried Youth to the People? What are your thoughts on the brand?
